Dr. Ashok Johari is considered a pioneer of Paediatric Orthopaedics in India and founded the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) in 1994. He was among the first to popularize femoral shortening as a treatment for late-presenting developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). He has been published several times for his work on post-septic hip sequelae as well as other various pediatric hip disorders. Dr. Johari is the current president of SICOT and has been a powerful force in leading global initiatives concerning improvements in hip health in children. In addition, Dr. Johari has lectured extensively and mentored several Pediatric Orthopaedists in India and worldwide in order to inspire the next generation of hip health professionals in the field.
