Dr. Alaric Aroojis is a leading Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon in India and a true pioneer in the field of Pediatric Hip health. With extensive training from globally renowned centres and a prolific academic career, he has played a transformative role in shaping early detection and treatment strategies for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) in India. Dr. Aroojis has led the development and national rollout of a DDH screening pathway through collaborations with key health organizations, and was instrumental in launching India’s first Cerebral Palsy Hip Surveillance Guidelines. He has also collaborated internationally to drive innovation, leading one of the world’s first pilot projects that used AI for DDH detection as part of a universal screening program as a pilot project in Mumbai. As a mentor at BJ Wadia Hospital for Children, he has trained and inspired a generation of Paediatric Orthopaedic fellows.
