Stacey Miller
Stacey Miller has made extraordinary contributions to pediatric hip health and cerebral palsy care.
As a physiotherapist, researcher, educator, and leader, Stacey has transformed the way children at risk of hip displacement are identified, monitored, and treated. She was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Child Health BC Hip Surveillance Program for Children with Cerebral Palsy, the first province-wide hip surveillance program of its kind in North America.
Through her vision, dedication, and collaborative leadership, thousands of children have benefited from earlier detection, timely intervention, and improved long-term outcomes.
For more than two decades at BC Children’s Hospital, Stacey has championed evidence-based care for children with cerebral palsy and complex hip conditions. Her research has advanced our understanding of hip displacement, surveillance strategies, rehabilitation, and family-centred care, while her work has helped establish hip surveillance as a global standard of practice.
Beyond her scientific achievements, Stacey is widely respected for her commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, mentorship, and patient advocacy. Through her work with the Hippy Lab and numerous global initiatives, she has helped build a worldwide community dedicated to improving hip health and mobility for children everywhere.
Stacey’s leadership has changed the trajectory of care for countless children and families and has left a lasting impact on pediatric orthopaedics around the world. Please join us in congratulating and celebrating Stacey Miller, a 2026 Hip Legend Award recipient!
